Bath Abbey


First built in 1495 and eventually finished in 1606,
- it occupies the ancient foundation of the original conventual church erected by King Osric in 676.

The vaults house a fascinating collection of items, including Saxon and Norman stonework, a magical reconstruction of the great Norman cathedral and a vivid presentation of the dream of Bishop Oliver King who restored the decayed church in the fifteenth century.
